I thoroughly enoyed it last night on TV. A warm little effort, with very good performances by several actors. Most importantly - no Hollywood stench. You can pretty much say that this was Liv Tyler's film debut, and she shines there. I think she's been getting a bit more LA lately, and wish she resists that, for she is a natural actress.
Follow Ups:
Loved Pruitt Taylor Vince. He was in Robert Benton's sorely overlooked "Nobody's Fool" with Paul Newman, Bruce Willis, and Melanie Griffith, and gave a very strong supporting role performance to Newman...and that's saying alot.
I also liked Copland and Girl, Interrupted. I haven't seen Kate & Leopold, but it looks like typical H'wood fluff, which is a little disappointing. All I can hope is that he did it strictly to finance his next more indie-minded film (a boy can dream).
