If I hadn'a seen it I wouldn'a believed it.
It was a preview before Monsoon Wedding yesterday. The colors were washed-out and the technique jerky. Ugly.
Monsoon Wedding was lots of fun, and in parts very moving too. A couple sequences had a TV show in progress, and when that was blown up to theatre-screen size -- it was made to look just like... Eric Rohmer Goes Digital!

    Hi,
    I thought (about a million years ago), that the first films to use an abuse subplot were very artsy. It's been done. Now it's just sickening. The wife loved it; and I must confess, I loved the way the filmaker made marigolds a central part of the film. There was much to enjoy, I did a strenous bike ride the day before, and was tired and cranky all day. That most likely colored my perception. Bet you never thought you'd see the day, where I said you were right.

      So that explains it. You frequently do a lot of strenuous bike riding.
