...let us not forget Stephen Frear's terrific "The Grifters", one of my favorite neo-noirs, based on the Jim Thompson novel of the same name.Spanking the Monkey aired several times on IFC recently.

I thought Grifters was good, largely due to Anjelica Huston presence. She is considerably underrated.
