Thanks for the name of the film! I saw it when it first came out near the age of 9 and still remember those scenes. The part that really got me was the dissection of the cat and the beating heart.
The psychotic gang of kids in relation to the affair seemed to be a strange mixture.
I called about 5 video stores and found the vhs and will watch it once again.

but I was 21 when the film came out, so my most memorable scene was Sarah Miles getting herself off.
