Over the past few weeks I've seen a few films that she's appeared in. Some good, some not so good.~~worth seeing~~~
Inventing the Abbotts
Waking the Dead
Mulholland Falls
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~borderline~~~~~
The Rocketeer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Almost unbearable~~
Labyrinth
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I watched these in chronological order. It was interesting to see Jennifer Connelly go from being a laughably bad actress in "Labyrinth" to a merely passable one in "Rocketeer" to a pretty good one in "Mulholland Falls", "Inventing the Abbotts", and "Waking the Dead."
MUST-see Jennifer Connely film.
What a hot film and cast...JC is something else! Nice to see her becoming a solid all around actress to go with the sensational looks.
And so is (sigh) Rufus Sewell...yummmm.JC is excellent in Requiem for a Dream. The film itself is rather strong stuff.
I liked "Dark City", but it's not one I've seen recently. Thanks for the recommendation of "Requiem for a Dream." I'll give it a try.
I found Requiem for a Dream to be one of those movies that stays with you for a long time. I think Harmonia's referrall to "strong stuff" is putting it mildly. For me, the film was depressing as all get out, if not disgusting. Yet, it is a remarkable film.JC does an excellent job - perhaps the best I've seen from her. But consider this a second warning about the film.
Saw it. "Strong stuff", indeed. Great use of quickly switching from scene to scene toward the end of the film. Really heightened the impact. I think this movie is going to haunt me for a while.
Rocketeer: "How do I look?"
:
"Like a Hood Ornament."
:
who had the "Hood Ornament" line in the film? I forget.
