For Sale Ads |
if I'm gonna take it anymore!!! I'm talking about commercials before films. It started with Pepsi a few years ago. I began hooting, others too, and eventually they stopped. Gradually, they've returned. But at a local cinema, I counted five (!) ads before the trailers began. What's it like in your chain theatres? I know the price of seats ain't paying the freight, but food is. So...do I just wait an extra fifteen minutes to go or what? Any ideas how to stop this crap?
Follow Ups:
In Denmark it is commonplace to have approx. 15-25 min. of commercials before the feature begins. I believe many moviegoers actually would be disappointed if there were no commercials - in a way it is considered part of the experience.Thom
pisses Americans off more is that here we practice an especially virulent strain of capitalism, it is our real religion. In Denmark, you are exposed to a gentler form, there is escape from pervasive commercialization of every facet of life. Typical American 30 minute tv show has about 12 minutes of ads. Check out one of our magazines. Even the New Yorker has gone overboard with ads. Denmark is the hummingbird at the flower, we are the 400 kilogram hog at the trough.
Britney Spears before a movie? I tend to look past the Pepsi ad and focus on Britney.
is why I wait for the movie to hit video.
