With all that excitement surrounding the US popcorn stands today it is easy to miss the small factoid that the Cannes festival is in its full swing.Clark, having missed the two previous Solurov's films might consider his latest one: Russian Ark.
And I think of interest should be the Hollywood Ending by Woody Allen. Anyone seen it yet?
Follow Ups:
Saw it. Didn't like it. Woody Allen is way too self absorbed in this one. (do you realize how self absorbed he has to be for me to say it is excessive for him?) His acting skills have eroded. It seemed liked he would say a line, stutter, repeat the line, stutter, repeat the line again, stutter over and over and over again. All the Hollywood jokes were shallow, predictable and used. I couldn't care a lick about the characters. Woody Allen has made many great movies. This isn't one of them.

I saw it and it's AWFUL. I don't know why Allen is pushing this dud, but it is one of his worst. It has a few laughs, but only a few and his one-joke film about his temporary blindness just keeps rehashing the same thing over and over again. Skip it.Doug
Vic,It was beyond awful. I think I laughed twice. The thought of Tia Leoni sleeping with Woody Allen makes me too sick to enjoy anything. I also thought that Treat Williams was a waste of talent.
The film starts off okay and goes nowhere and ends with such a "woody" ending.
Save your money.

His performance in "Prince of the City" still astounds me !
Not only it is very "pleasant" that no one gives a shit about Cannes here in States, but with all DVD zoning and complete absence of multisystem TVs there is no reasonable way for us to get great European movies here. Feels like Crusoe on an island.
