It is very similar to the way it used to be with cheap VHS tapes--sometimes you will get a deal, sometimes you will get junk. My very inexpensive DVD copy of Metropolis is pure crap, as this is a public domain release from a low quality source. I have a collection of John Wayne movies on DVD that is also pretty poor. Both of these cost around $10 a couple years ago. OTOH, I've gotten some newer stuff on DVD that while not cinematic classics, at least have a decent picture and sound.Todd

You're right about the hit and miss.Goodtimes DVD used to be poor source for inexpensive videos, but with their DVD imprint, it's gotten better. Howard Hughes-Sternberg's "Jet Pilot" is an astounding transfer!
