Very good but hardly the reference for Japanese animation !

I found the juxtaposition of the CGI and big headed, bug eyed "human" characters off-putting.

Couple that with the simplistic and naive storyline and we have a good animated feature but not in the same class as Princess Mononoke or that classic , Akira.

Mind you, the Metropolis double DVD set is quite good but a bit flat looking, with a superb DTS soundtrack.

Well worth getting.
