The TV ads say the movie will reveal the "truth" about crop circles. Since the only truth known to be fact is that some of them are hoaxes, I don't see how the movie could be very spooky."Well, gee, we woke up this morning, looked out, and there were these funny designs in the wheat field."
Two years of speculation, then...
"Uh, Clem, I have to tell you that me and the boys went into your field that night and knocked your wheat down with brooms."
Wow, I'm shaking in my boots! What other truth is there?
Follow Ups:
All of them are hoaxes!I agree with you, it would be pretty difficult to suspend disbelief on that one.
Hollywood must really be hard up for ideas!
Actually, if you're prepared to see and entertain new things now and again - without lapsing into Newtonian Physics, empiricism and cynicism (Scepticism excluded) - then click on the link, and read the hoaxer comment about 'The Crop Circle in Wiltshire'. Every 30 seconds hey!?Another site that might pique your interest, and has a good record of circles (both hoax and otherwise) can be found at www.cropcircleconnector.com . See also www.copcirclesthemovie.com for information about a forthcoming documentary.
There taken pretty seriously over here in the UK, where the majority of the more complex patterns have been appearing in recent years. Some estimate that maybe 15 - 20% are hoaxes. The rest are not so easy to explain, or even execute.

A great magician does not give away his secrets. The crop circles are ALL hoaxes.

That's a howler! How about "The only fact known to be true..." Is that any better, or even different?
Fuzzy thinking, m'lad. Admits you into sneer territory.
Oh, almost forgot to ask: How do *you* know what is true, or factual? Could we see some corroboration?

Some of them are mind blowingly complex. I just imagine how long it would take me to do one with a ride along mower.I usually take a weed whacker along with me to do some of the detail work...
Personally, though, Shyamalan has a great track record (the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were both very good suspense movies amid the usual trash that litters the landscape) and Signs looks like it's going to be a good movie.
