My wife and I can't stand the scene in the TV ad where the little girl walks into a room in the dark of night and says, "Daddy, there's a monster in my room. Can I have a glass of water?"Based on that scene, we have no interest in the rest of the movie. It looks to be way below the standard set by Contact.

What a missed opportunity. One would have hopes that this might have been another chance to sincerely broaden our horizons, not constrain and limit them with 'horror' or misunderstanding. Contact remains one of my favourite movies of its genre - the standard still being set by Close Encounters for the sense of wonder it promotes.Although I like Shamyalan's work, this issue is too important to gloss over with Fear and filmic license. I have greater hopes for www.cropcirclesthemovie.com , which would appear to be a documentary worth watching. Who knows?

I'll reserve judgement until after seeing the thing; it's hard to beat Contact, maybe it will beat Mothman...
...although I hold out a little hope for Signs.
