Check out Kinski's autobiography too...to say the least, it's extremely interesting and compelling.

He was totally outrageous, and probably still is! It would be a great read. I particularly like Fitzcarraldo and Aguirre, Kinski comes into his own as a maniac who would either pull a ship over a mountain or take on a whole wild jungle continent; complete megalomaniac, a man up against all odds without the slightest doubt of his abilities or of reaching his goal; "art reflecting life" perhaps.
I've always wondered if those films ever recouped the cost of filming them, which must have been considerable.

beside the fact that he was a sex maniac, crazy, and not the best family man....he was very talented, when he just did not need cash...His love / hate, relation to Herzog, is worth the money...
