Yeah, it's pretty sad. Would today's Disney Studio make it? Unlikely. There was a thread at another movie forum about "Who else besides me dislikes Disney movies". AMong people who hate, Disney, Old Yeller frequently came up as the exception.
.
Nope...just the black humor in the morning thing. I'm actually terrifically fond of critters and have had a yeller dawg (yellow labrador) underfoot for most of my life.I think I cried more for Bambi's mother. Bigger shock. Didn't see it coming. I had a feeling Old Yeller was a goner.
That's my first sad movie--about twelve when it came out in the theater. I was embarassed to cry in front of my family over a movie.
Extensive physcological therapy has corrected most of the problems stemming from that traumatic event.
KP and I have a More black lab than dalmation mix. Her name is Lucy, she is just adorable. She sleeps curled up in my arms, with her head on my neck. Extremely affectionate breed, labs are. I've always had boxers prior, but this one found me. She was a stray puppy that kept nipping at my pants cuff--so I had to take her home.mp
My childhood riding instructor had one who was wonderful ("Hilda"). Labs make good bass traps btw, much better than kitties (more mass).
