...from holding my breath until I get the Stanley Kubrick collection on DVD. Anybody else as excited about this collection as I am? I'd pay $90 just for Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, and The Shining.Tom S.
I presume every Kubrick fan loves the 2001. In that case let me recommend something. The Russian movie Solaris is a real treat. A great sci-fi work based on a book by Stanislav Lem.An amuzing note: take a look at all those old oscilloscopes on their sides with slow traces, creating a futuristic, by the 1970 Soviet standards, environment. Great actors.
Victor.
I liked that and the "Mirror", but I just couldn't go through the Stalker.
Tom,I'm looking forward to it as well. "The Shining" features the documentary Kubrick's daughter Vivian made. The downside? The cases are all cardboard snappers (WB standard) to keep the packaging consistant. This includes Dr. Strangelove and 2001 which have already been released in plastic keep cases by Columbia and MGM. Me, I'd rather have the 800.com version of the Kubrick collection, it's got two extra discs! The 800.com info is probably old and wrong...
