why do people go see a movie that they KNOW is going to be BAD and then come out complaining, "OH MAN, THAT SUCKED!"
Follow Ups:
I think you are being too tough on him. We all watch crap every now and then. My problem is usually with people PAYING for that, as their money guarantees the next load of crap will be produced. Supporting crap production is bad.But coming home late, stretching on bed, turning on Dumb and Dumber... I recall my wife complaining she could not sleep because I was laughing too loud.
Certainly not your Bunuel moment, that bathroom scene...
Actually this was a "freebee" rental from blockbusters, and yes I was dumb to listen to my teenage daughter about how great this movie was (considering she was going only by heresay)
I got burned the same way with "Something About Mary", from my nephew.
"Something About Mary" is a work of towering intellect compared to "Femalien". I was in the video store having a hard time deciding what to get (and I just wanted to get out of there), when I overheard two teenage guys talking about how funny they thought the movie was. I'd hoped it would be trashy-funny, but it was just plain bad. I mean REALLY bad.
Try "The New Guy"...it's worth the one scene to see Lyle Lovett get a flaming marshmellow flung in his eye. I had to stop the movie while I calmed down. Geeze that was funny. OTOH, I wouldn't tell anyone I watch these kinds of flicks:-)))
