that happened in a short time. Briefly:After several thousand years the vehicle is discovered by robots. There are no humans left alive. The robokid reactivates. The robots retrieve the kid's memories and recreate his "parent's" house for him to live in. The robots can also recreate humans from DNA, but the catch is they can only do it once for a person and they only live for one day, when they go to sleep they never wake up. The supertoy bear kept that lock of the kid's mother's hair (remember that?). The robots bring the kid's mother to life for one day. When she lies down to go to sleep (and permanently die) the kid lies down with her, and apparently permanently deactivates himself (the impression I got).

I thought they were aliens.:))
Film does raise some inevitable questions.
It reminded me of Friedrich Schiller's words[apologies for my rough translation] -
"A baby is happy
and desires nothing more than his cradle.
Just give him time to become a man,
and the whole world will be too small."Never expected to like AI, but enjoyed it. 7 out of 10 for me.
I also think they are aliens, trying to find out more about former life on Earth.
.
They were alien robots, basically, and they were amazed with the kid because he had actually interacted with real beings.
Why is everyone so insistent on conveting them into aliens, or now apparently, alien robots? If they were aliens they wouldn't have the slightest interest in recreating humans would they? But if they were "native" decendents of the first sentient robot survivors of the event that exterminated humans they would be somewhat driven to know their creators, would they not? Hence, a fascination with humans or those who actually came in contact with them?Or am I missing something here?
The robots had the same fascination with their creators as humans have with their creator(s). The difference being that the robots knew exactly who their creators were.OT: One thing that always bugs me when cloning etc. is shown in pop media: they never seem to explain how an adult is cloned immediately, rather than it starting out as a baby. *That* is something WAY beyond mere cloning.
