Went to local store (N. Calif.) & found that the store has taken about 90% of their VHS tapes off the shelf to make room for more DVD's "Because they sell better" according to a clerk.
Follow Ups:
I think it was Best Buy who made the big first "anti-VHS" step a few months back. They just aren't going to sell them anymore, no point taking up so much valuable rack space when most people want DVD's.Prerecorded VHS will live in Wall Mart bargain bins for a while, but the death clock is ticking!

Yes. I would assume it's because DVDs are selling better, but it's OK with me for whatever reason, because DVD's are way better, and it doesn't cost too much anymore to get a decent player.
and for good reason, DVD is the same price if not cheaper and much, much better.
it makes sense to me because dvd is so much better.
