I presume every Kubrick fan loves the 2001. In that case let me recommend something. The Russian movie Solaris is a real treat. A great sci-fi work based on a book by Stanislav Lem.
An amuzing note: take a look at all those old oscilloscopes on their sides with slow traces, creating a futuristic, by the 1970 Soviet standards, environment. Great actors.
