It's all here. The black and white original, with Raymond Burr, and that Japanese guy with the eye patch! A little worse for wear, picture-wise, but still great classic monster cinema, with Burr's Zen acting performance.
The one with the two, tiny Mothra Priestesses..."Godzilla vs. Mothra"...I still don't get their place in the Godzilla Pantheon, but it's not to question "why" with Godzilla, right ?!
The one with the little boy and Godzilla's son, Minilla..."Godzilla's Revenge". And "Terror of Mechagodzilla". And "Rodan" !!!!
Very good Japanese cinema that asks the question why Crouching Tigers is so dullllllllllll...and I'm still trying to figure out how Japan went over their quota for tanks, and jets while still fending off Godzilla !!!

Not quite. The (semi)original, and Rodan are good. Godzilla Vs. Mothra is one of the better Godzilla movies, much better than the 90's remake. I would like to see the rerelease of the first Ghidrah movie. I'ld also like to see the 2 movies that came out after Godzilla 2000, but never made it to the US.
You may also wish to get "Destroy all Monsters" and Godzilla vs. Monster Zero". Godzilla 2000 is a must for Godzilla fans.> > > The one with the two, tiny Mothra Priestesses..."Godzilla vs. Mothra"...I still don't get their place in the Godzilla Pantheon < < <
Its really the Toho Pantheon. It is the fourth in the Godzilla series.> > > Very good Japanese cinema that asks the question why Crouching Tigers is so dullllllllllll < < <
Crouching Tiger is chinese.
Enjoy,
Jack
PS. Godzilla Vs. the smog monster is out of print.
I don't care if it's from Mars...it still sucks !
If you like the work of Ishiro Honda- see The Mysterians (sometimes called Earth Defence Forces) if you get a chance-one of the best Toho productions- the giant robot is a crack-up.Also, Destroy All Monsters for an all out guy-in-a-rubber-suit fest. Starring Angilas, Varan, Speiga, Manda, Gorosaurus,Baragon,Minya,Rodan,Mothra,King Ghidorah and Godzilla. Some scenes from this film appear in other Toho movies.
Honda maintained a long friendship with Kurasawa, and assisted on Ran and Kagemusha.
Some trivia- Godzilla was named after a surly worker at Toho studios called Gojira.
Gottal love Son of Godzilla, especially the scenes where he blows smoke rings... SCTV used to do a wicked parody of Godzilla movies with Rick Moranis playing a talk show host who interviews the Big Guy... "Don't crush me!"Son of the Beach recently had an episode where a chicken grew to Godzilla size... dam' funny stuff.
BTW, the original Japanese version of Godzilla omitted Raymond Burr; his scenes were added later for American release.
Too bad...they missed one of the most understated performances, I've ever seen...if there was a hole, he would have crawled in it, I'm sure !
Gozilla vs Hedora,The Smog Monster,1971? Hedora is one of the strangest
cinematic creatures I´ve ever seen, rivals the bat-rat-spider-crab
monster and giant ameoba with rotating eyeball in the 1956 sci-fi film "Angry
Red Planet"!!! - AH
I will put it on my list, to see !
