1. When Sandy is trying to convince the gang that land creatures can do anything better than sea creatures. She begins listing off what she can do better, and Squidward adds, "Don't forget the drowning".2. SpongeBob is being dragged through torture devices like a cheese grater, etc. and one of them is also "educational television"! :)
Gay subtext? Perhaps. There have been moments where I raised an eyebrow to wonder what the hell that was all about. Eyebrow raising moment: SpongeBob and Patrick mad at each other. They are all beefed up (ala bodybuilder like) and wrestling in a wrestling ring, when they both rip each other's pants off to discover that one is wearing the other's underwear. They walk off into the sunset arm in arm. Things that make you go Hmmmm?
I also agree that Courage The Cowardly Dog is great. If I'm not mistaken, I think there's a link between Courage and SpongeBob (can't remember who...not Dilworth...but someone). My favorite Courage episode? Courage and Bigfoot when they take a quick 30 second break from a food fight... each don headress and skirt made of tropical fruit... turn to the camera... spotlight comes on...they do a quick dance number to Caribbean rhythms... and just as quickly they go back to throwing food at each other. Too funny!
