The comments about "crime doesn't pay" messages in movies and the earlier comments about juvenile deliquents brought this old classic to mind. A bit hokey, but still well worth a viewing if you've never seen it. Cagney was another of those Golden Age actors who just compels me to watch him.
have you seen him in Yankee Doodle Dandy? It's like he has no feet! He just floats across the stage.
He made a lot of mediocre movies, but his best ten or so are really good ones.
