'rocky horror picture show', a couple of times. i saw 'rear window' a few times, two in the past, and once recently. i saw matrix a few times.
i saw the frech movie forbidden games 2x, the conversation 2x, she's gotta have it (spike lee) 2x.
i saw '8mm' 2x.
i saw the indian film, 'pahter pacheli' 2x and i will eventually see it again. i saw 'miracle in milan', and bicycle thief 2x.
i saw existenz 2x and i want to see it again.
Follow Ups:
I don't know how many times I've watched it, at least 10...Other multiple-viewings (at least 5 times each): Star Wars, The Graduate, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spaceballs, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, and dozens of other 80s movies...
There was also this cheese-ball 80s movie called "Making the Grade" starring Judd Nelson that my brother loved. We would rent it at least once a month when we were kids, so I know I saw it more than anybody else on the entire planet.
.
WIT, HOUSE OF CARDS, HIFIDELITY, HAROLD AND MAUDE, SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS, NINTH GATE. Recently another Roman Polanski film- with Gerard Depardieu. The names escapes me no matter how many times I have referred to it, but it is indeed one of my favorite films
The only movie,on tape,I ever bought.
Some others would be
Saving Private Ryan
In The Heat Of The Night
The Godfather
Annie Hall
Caddyshack
Chinatown
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid
YECH
ain't got no home
no place to roam
i agree that multiple viewing are a very good thing. i do that with books. i basically just read only the ones i read in the past that i really liked.i've watched the mad max series a few times. i like the crazy world that's created. a world of anxiety and madness.
i saw sex, lies, and videotape, a long time ago, and i'd like to give it another look.
and what's that older, i think it's a french film, where the guys volunteer for the pay position of driving nitro g. on a bumpy road. they start in a mexican town, i believe.
i saw angel heart a couple of times, and a similar film i find quite interesting is 8mm. i find that to be a great film and a disturbing film. cause i really do believe that there exists what that film is about.
i've seen night of the living dead a few times, and it always gets to me. i saw carnival of souls when i was a little kid and that movie scared me then like no other, so i took the opportunity to see it again a few years ago. there's a french horrow movie that takes place in a movie theater. if i knew the name i'd see it again.
i don't need to go out and see the crazy world. i can see it all in the comfort of my living room.
.
'wages of fear' saw it twice, great film.i found that film in the local public library, and it was one of the best i found.
never saw the remake, but i find it is often hared to capture the anxiety and emotions that permeate the original film
mikey and nicky was the other one i could not remember. with peter falk.

Didn't anyone mention "It's a Wonderful Life"?Every year, around xmas time.
Every year.

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye. - Antoine De Saint-Exupery
.
Maybe it's just me, but Donna Reed REALLY turns me on. I can't even imagine her doing something nasty, I guess that's the turn on? (Whereas, I can't imagine someone like Jane Russell not doing something bad...). Predictability is a turn-off, I guess.
She was very tasty.Still one of the sexiest moms ever on TV.!
that line about lassoing the moon and having moonbeams come out of her fingers and hair....man oh man.

I just picked up the DVD and it's one of those timeless stories,
"They" used to make a long time ago...the film is some 44 years old now.Whenever it's on Tv, I just put down whatever I'm doing and marvel at the well-crafted story. Every character is lovable, instantly accessible without being condescending...the story moves swiftly and speaks to the viewer on a personal level. Character actor Fred Clark is the "heavy" here, but as I said, lovable too.
No boobs, no car chases, no mutilation....just Entertainment.
Compelled? More like forced. After once a year for 43 years that I recall, I still like it.
in no particular order...Amadeus
Das Boot
Fargo
Le Grand Blond in a Black Shoe
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
movies multiple times for pleasure over the years, but the ones I was compelled to see JUST to friggin' understand them were: The Sixth Sense; Se7en; Last Tango in Paradise; The Sweltering Sky ; and The Big Sleep.
.
I think you meant Paris instead of Paradise !!! Marlon Brando with an interesting use for butter !!
That's about the only thing people remember from that movie.:o) Are we sex starved or what?

.
Night of the living dead, death race 2000, Pink Floyd the wall, National Lampoons Vacation, Blues brothers, Blue velvet, Evil Dead, any Dario Argento, Zardoz, and all the Animated Christmas specials.
One of the extremely few films that go to the very heart of the original short story, and even beyond: the way Huston is able to keep the pulse of the film growing, while nothing at all seems to be happening, is simply incredible. And the last scene, when Gabriel finally gets in touch with Greta´s heart, never fails to leave me with a knot in my heart...A true masterpiece, thread on flesh and soul, if ever was one!
Regards
One of the finest, ever.
it has a glooming inside quality, warm and tender.
And then all the sadness.
And what wonderful actors-ALL-
just to name a few. I don't have a problem seeing good films multiple times.
along with Diehard number one only! I generally don't care for the action genre, but Preditor did an excellent job creating a mood in said given genre. Diehard was just plain fun, not serious, but well done action, and flipant lines weren't even that cartoonish.
I would add Alive, and Payback to that list of action movies that I have seen more than once.mp
.
Along with "Hoosiers", lately, this film has been playing on AMC...ALOT...and I am genuinely intrigued by Hackman's character, and the relationship he has with the wife of one of the suspects...a deputy sheriff...in the murder of the three civil rights workers.Hackman's acting is film magic.
Subtle. Accented with lots of intelligence, and deftness of handling.
A workman practicing his craft.
bs. The FBI was part of the problem, not the solution. J. Edgar was as racist as they come.
It's the Acting, it's the Acting !
But I just wish they could have made their history a bit more accurate. The FBI did a lot of reprehensible stuff around that time; I hate to see our illiterate masses "educated" on this "stuff."
You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet, and sometimes, the end DOES justify the means...that's the American way !
He has got to be the most prolific actor in cinema today. He seems to be in every other film released.Steve Buscemi and William H. Macy don't seem to be suffering a lack of work either.
Just one. The Matrix. I can't get enough of it. I think it's the "dudeness" of Reeves that keeps me coming back for more. Lord help me, but I love that movie:-)
Movies that I have seen and enjoyed numerous times:(Sorry the list is vertical, tried to list them side-by-side, but
they were then strung together !!)Shawshank Redemption

I think great musicals and fantasies stand up to repeat viewing better than any other type of film. Dramas tend to loose their impact unless they are extremely well done and horror/mysteries fare the worst, for obvious reasons. Hitchcock being an exception (especially when Grace Kelly is in the film! hubba hubba).
All the films I have listed I would watch again and again. They all gain with each viewing. Of course one has to wait some time before watching them one more time, otherwise you saturate your taste buds, as it were.
Great films were made to be seen many times, just as great literature is to be read and reread throughout ones life.
Star Wars: (And this was pre-VCR, when it played only in the theater): 32x before I quit counting
This is Cinerama: 12xVideo (LD/DVD)
Bladerunner: 300+x
War of the Worlds: 200+x
Time Machine (1960 version): 200+x
Time Machine (2001 version): 40+x
Citizen Kane: 100+xI currently have 600+ LDs/DVDs in my collection and have watched the majority of them 5-10 times. THere are at least 100 titles that I've watched 25 times or more, but I'm hard pressed to remember them all.
Wayne's World...3 (sober that is)Has the remake of the Time Machine even been on video for 40 days?
You sir, are one busy man.I lay my sword at the foot of a master....
