I, for one, can't wait.

Follow Ups:
Hope the director doesn't f' it up like he did the first one (maybe that's too harsh, but I was irked by the pointless changes he made to the story).
imho....FOTR followed the book exceptionally well for a movie. However, some of the spoilers I've heard about the Two Towers has me disgusted...there are some major changes in store from what I've heard....take for example...
WARNING. SPOILER ALERT! DON't SCROLL DOWN IF YOU WANT THIS TO BE A SURPRISE

Saruman is knocked off in the Two Towers, therefore no "Scouring of the Shire" will take place in ROTK....
...we have the extended FOTR DVD to keep us company. I can't wait for that either. But it's arriving soon...if not soon enough...sigh. (We wants the preciousss NOW.)

Rich for my blood, but WTF. We already have two copies of the first DVD.I would buy it in a New York Minute if someone told me Tom B. was in it.

..no Tom Bombadile as far as I know - I've already read the first review, & it doesn't seem like he's in it. The general impression I got was that the pace is a bit slower, but it is a 'must' for fans - I'm looking forward to it anyway :)
It's been a long time since I've been this excited about an upcoming release-being a fan of Tolkien's work obviously helps but LOTR stands on its own as an impressive cinematic achievement, IMO. Can't wait for the extended cut of LOTR coming out on DVD next month, too.
