On Oct. 13th I posted that I thought "The Ring" would do about $160 million in the U.S. On Sunday it crossed the $100 million barrier, averaging $3.3 million per day. It is still playing at over 2,900 theaters.
Follow Ups:
You know, ten years ago, no one ever really talked about how much a movie made. These days, thanks to the entertainment news programs on TV, people know box office weekend grosses and talk about and predict these things like it matters (to us). It's not going into your pocket, and it's sure not helping make the movies any better. We are falling into the same "blockbuster" mentality as the studios we point our fingers at.
And 'Star Wars' finished things up, thereby sealing the future & fate of American cinema...
