I bought this movie last week. I knew it didn't do well when in theaters, but I was hoping for more. I don't know, but there have been other movies (e.g., "Zero Effect" - great flick by the way)I've enjoyed that didn't do well at the box office. Anyway, I gave it a shot.I thought the audio & video was fine. No problems.
But, the movie left me flat. As I watched, I kept thinking "this is supposed to be funny, darn it, it should be funny." But, I think I laughed one time throughout the whole flick. I think there were more chuckles in Buckaroo Bonzai (sp?).
So, this flick goes into the trade-in bin, along with my copy of Bean & Wild Wild West (although, I may hang onto WWW for demo purposes).
These things are a matter of taste. This is just my opinion.
Like you, I kept thinking, "I should be laughing here." But I wasn't. Felt stupid that I spent 3.75 renting it - that's pretty bad! Good cast - clever idea - lame result.
ARMY OF DARKNESS and CLASS OF NUKEM HIGH are my two favorite B-movies.
Loved AofD a lot!!I'll check out the other on your recommendation.
Thanks.
Earth Girls Are Easy is an oddball movie of this kind that I'm embarrassed to admit I enjoyed. Haven't seen Mystery Men, but from the trailer it looked like one that would have been very easy to turn into a mess.
