For the last two years the tide is backwards, although usually it's cheaper to built a new theater from scratch than retrofit an old barn. In some towns, it's even more visible than Moscow (SPB, as usually, lags behind the crowd).

And what they show in those new theaters is the Lord of the Ring and that Potter guy.

Are there any theaters in Moscow showing good films these days? In Leningrad there used to be a couple such places, working full time. I presume ditto for former Moscow.
How about now?
