In Reply to: Victor, that is what TIVO (and ReplayTV) is for... posted by EdM on December 16, 2002 at 13:36:31:
I have to say I am not up to speed on TIVO and what it takes. But I am much like Professor Higgins sings: "I'm just an ordinary man!". I love the ordinary things. I want to turn the TV ON and watch. OK, put the tape in and watch. How does the TIVO work?
Follow Ups:
Just plug it into power, plug a phone line into it, plug in a source- RF, cable, etc. and it will start recording whatever you tell it and then instantly play it back from a list on the screen.IMHO one of the greatest inventions of all time!
I know that much, but I though you made it sound like you could access movies you want - not just record form the broadcast.
Hi Vic,
Tivo has a search engine. SO if there is a movie you want, you can put it on the wish list, and one of these days it will pop up.
You can also use an actor's name. Once a week, on Sunday morning, I flip through the upcoming shows. I pick a few movies and shows that look interesting and tell Tivo to record them. It's a handly little thing. I really like zapping commercials.
