Well I do, but I haven't seen one in years. BBC2/Channel 4 have dumbed down and now almost never broadcast "difficult" foreign films with subtitles, my local subsidised art-house cinema prefers to show populist current movies, and there are no Bresson films available on DVD that I know of.
they are available in the u.s. on videotape.the dvds of many foreign/art-house films look no better than the videotape version and made from worn prints (i am thinking of companies like image, new yorker films, etc.).
unless criterion puts together a nice dvd package, many of these films often don't fare better on dvd than video.
the biggest loss for us filmgoers, however, is the quality of the subtitle translations on some of these films.
I canīt tell. His films are very slow moving, an introspective world,
dark, solid, it is like Proust for me, from time to time you have to try again, till you can adjust your mood to the " one* you are looking for "....
