Picks by our nation's two most high-profile film critics. Interestingly, only three films made both critics' list.Does this redeem me for the Village Voice critics poll that I posted last week? (Given people's tastes on this board, I'm guessing NO!)
Take these lists for what they are - a way to draw your attention to something good that you otherwise would have missed.

Follow Ups:
Some of us just have different tastes than the reviewers as to what constitutes the "best" films of 2002. For instance, I've seen both Minority Report and Gangs of New York (#1 on each respective list) and I wouldn't even place either in the Top 10 even though I could recommend them with reservations. Note: Both have serious flaws, IMO. Some of the films on both lists are just now getting wide release, so it will be awhile before those of us living in the "middle" have the opportunity to assess the quality (...or lack thereof).By the way, if you are "redeemed" does that get us free pop-corn & a coke at the concession stand? :o)
.
...for turning MR into a stale whodunnit in the last reels and especially for the awful ending, so false to the story it's based on.OTOH, these changes may have been mandated by Spielberg...another good reason to fire him, IMO.
Can't stand Cruise in serious movies. Shallow, shallow shallow.
> By the way, if you are "redeemed" does that get us free pop-corn & a coke at the concession stand? :o)you'll have to talk to chris garrett about that. i think he runs some movie theaters.
i can already guess what your top three films of 2003 will be: lotr-rotk, matrix reload, matrix revolution -- i bet probably in that order too.
