I was expecting a lot from this. Good press, Goldblum nominated for a Globe, Sarandon, and Pullman. Should be good, right? Alas, not for me. I was not the least bit intrigued by the main character or the plot--if it really had one. Golblum was Goldblum--which is not bad. But, Ryan Phillipe's cardboard-flat acting is enough to land him in military acting academy. Young Culkin was not much better. There wasn't one redeeming character in the story. I kept asking why?
Follow Ups:
We rented Igby goes Down this weekend, I also thought it was a pretty lame move, at least the actors were not that horrid. On the other hand I was very pleasantly surprised by Wasabi which we watched right after.
