One more memory..." Quand passent les cygognes " I must have been a kid, it is a Russian film...must have been wonderful...Can you help me to track in down ?
Follow Ups:
I ordered it once again - this time on a DVD. Also ordered the one that perhaps could be called its sister film - Ballad of a Soldier. I am sure my wife will not want to see either one - they gut wrenching, but I want to have them.
la Ballade du soldat...Hum... just empty words, just a trace of a feeling, ...Long time ago... ( in my youth I īd go tree times a weeks in a movie house...)

I ordered it (The Cranes are Flying it is called in English) from a seller on Amazon about four weeks ago, and they alledgedly shipped it, but I never received it, so it got lost.It IS one of the best war films ever, and a classic - 1957 by Mikhail Lalatozov. I am sure I could find the original version, but I presume you would need the one with subtitles - right? Doesn't the Amazon France have it?
You'll probably find them on Gorbushka.
I'm sure you are right... but no time for such fun. And this time of the year? Mud, slush, rain, snow... not the best weather for the outdoors markets.
No, no. Gorbushka moved. It consists of hundreds of indoor audio-video shops. Mecca, they say.
You know where they are now? Do they also have books? The outdoors book market on Arbat wasn't much.
I must have been 10 years old*... Not anymore, But no worry I will get it...No question....
Small mental world.....Later with the coming of CINERAMA did the Russian connect again to this kind of grand cinema epic.....
