Have you seen this film? It is much better than anything he´s done before. And, if you were familiar with Spanish cinema, you´d be surprised at seeing how many well-known actors are there, just to fill the party, when Caetano Veloso sings, gratis (for free) just because they wanted to be there...
I have a feeling that even you will be moved by this film... you know, that strange sensation, when something suddenly grows so big inside your chest, that you feel it´s more than you can hold, and your throat becomes dry, and some wetness in your eyes blurs your vision...

I haven't seen this one yet... heck, haven't been to the movies in about a year. We will be seeing it soon, I am sure.I am always glad to see people grow, and I do love his films. In many of them there is something memorable, even if the whole film is not of the true star caliber - this is more than could be said about 90% of today's films.
My familiarity with Spanich cinema drops off fast after Almodovar and Bunuel (whom I place significantly above the young fella)... I know I have seen many others but would not be able to remember them under the spur of the moment. But I am sure I would recognize quite a few if someone listed them.
***I have a feeling that even you will be moved by this film...
That sentence I don't know how to interpret.
Anyway, it is definitely on the short list, together with the - ahem... the Russian Ark - as much as I HATE, HATE, HATE... Sokurov with every cell in mo body - and probably About Schmidt - need to send Hollywood some money after they boohed that idiot at Oscars, as I promised.

After your fifty some posts on the Ark I figure I should give you that!
Actually, his films failed to grown on me with time...all the ingredients are there, moving humans, political engagement, sensibility, and I believe now ONLY pseudo depth....
Ummm, Patrick, to whom are you referring here?
Aldo....
