I'm new to this section of audio asylum (I spend most of my time in the audio hi-rez sections, rock music, etc.).About a year ago, Ernest Shackleton's arctic adventure was making the rounds. A short 40-minute or so version came to the local Imax and is available on DVD. I didn't see that one.
Instead, I went to an arthouse theater in Dallas (Magnolia) and saw a longer version. The version I saw was over an hour (probably around 75 minutes to 90 minutes).
In addition, a version aired on the local PBS station (KERA, Channel 13). It too lasted longer than an hour and was well done.
Finally, I know that Cable TV featured a K. Branaugh film (along with various featurettes). I didn't care for the recreation after having seen the documentary versions.
I have searched high and low, and cannot find where any version of the Shackleton documentary that lasted over an hour ever appeared on DVD and is thus purchaseable.
Any help would be welcome. Thanks.
