Is a perfect cut film, it has great potential like a good wine, I think this one will mature as a good comedy, the opening music is very liquid, almost analog, but only the first mesure they it goes down to " digitalitis ".
Leonardo has the same role as in " Titanic ", I had rather seen M. Damon in it...Hawks do his usual play and in his original voice got on my nerves( the French voice is much more supportable ), Walken is very good, of course, and N. Baye very bad.
A good comedy, without deep, but who would had expected one ?PS: for the older one like me, a pleasure to see the time ( 60/ 70 / 80 ) capsule.
Follow Ups:
The opening music was great, notice on the credits that "music was by John Williams"...no wonder.I enjoyed Leonardo in this movie, thought he did a good job in "The Beach" also.
I did NOT meant the music. It was the QUALITY of the soundtrack in the first very few minutes at the opening.
the only young-ish modern actor w/a bit of individuality and style is Benicio del Toro. Damon may be the worst of his generation, though Ben Affleck's earnestness almost earns him the award, hands down.
Mr. Ripley was half that bad. AND It is a choice between the less bad...as we do not have less....good.Got it ?
