I just had the one thousand re-look at your " Wild Strawberries " this film is so huge, so full of life, it has one thousand and one way to look at it, quiet and lovingly, so full of shame, and reticence and understanding, so near to me.
One of the very best.I pity the one who did not see it or appreciate.
That´s what life is for. In art . The art of life dreamed or true, who cares. There is no difference anyway.
Follow Ups:
The philosophical age...I haven't seen it in perhaps thirty years... maybe it is time to revisit it.
We try to view these in severe moderation, as they tend to produce too strong an emotional impact. Especially in my wife, who lists Bergman as her Maestro Numero Uno, with Federico being 1.001 on that long logarithmic scale.
The " Wild Stawberries " has the strong mark from the German impressionist ( Murnau ..) and Freud, that you may retrieve in others films like....Hitch´s Spellbound ( I know you do not like him ) that I curiosly always attached one to the other ( I suppose because of the Dali scene )
But this is definitively one of the very best.It is the film from a middle age man who turn back.
And real old man could not, so easily do the trick.
