I have just quoted what may become a signature line of the year, and in context Man is it hilarious! But there are many funny lines, and nearly every remark out of Dorey's mouth makes you grin. (Ellen DeGeneres should be so good...)The story begins in classical, satisfying Disney fashion -- a loss experienced by a child -- then loops its way through a truly astonishing, far-beyond-Disney variety of entertaining characters both good and bad. Wait 'til you meet Bruce the shark!
And if you're worried about your Disney stock, loosen up, they have the next five Pixar movies under contract.
Pixar! Pixar!
Follow Ups:
7 year old little YECH enjoyed it immensly.
To me it was missing the subtle humor aimed at adults that are present in the above mentioned movies.
The advertising preceding the movie was impresive.
My daughter walked around for a month saying,"May 30th for Finding Nemo".

Captivating. Not as clever conceptually, but a wonderful story brilliantly told...IMO.Shrel is clever, but pushy pushy pushy pushy and I like the CGI less and less. The characters are *constantly* twitching.
Monsters Inc was brilliant (door scene...wow!). But I like the tone of Nemo more.

Pixar went public back in the Toy Story era at $25. I never buy anything at issue price, but said if I see it tick down around $18 I'll buy it. It did, but I didn't. I was unsure just what the relationship between Pixar and Diz was. Was Pixar an active partner sharing in production and profit or just a software company ?It now trades around $58. Another example of seeing opportunity, but failing to pull the trigger. Sigh

That line from the seagulls is a howler, and you're right-Dorey stole the show. The theme of parental anxiety and loss hooks grownups and kids alike right from the beginning, and I'm quite convinced the only truly creative people in Hollywood are working for Pixar. The last 4 or 5 films from the "regular" Disney animated studios have been absolute stinkers.BTW, I saw it in a "full digital" presentation using Texas Instruments' DLP technology, and it really looked incredible.
