This film was a few months near me, I could not watch it too quickly...as forty years ago I would watch it every Christmas at the communist feast given to children of ex inmates fom the dearh camps. My father was there, as a marxist leader. It was very emotional for me. I felt like a Jew or like an gypsi or any other pour soul...
This film is very French in his way of telling, typically in his tone, in his pseudo cold & machinal voice over & film over.
For me, it is poetic as poetic a film can be on the nightmare.
Every school in the world should be forced to have it in his programm.
After the war it was a documentary, now it should be a show case of what human (!!!) beeing can do to others.
Terrible.
