... may benefit from my budget projection system review just posted in the Video Asylum. Watching Roman Polanski's The Pianist the other night over this set-up was almost too real; I'm tempted to say that it was better than a cinema experience.

Total agree with you. I've gone to one movie theater in the last 4 years. I'd rather watch my movies on a good home theater projector setup. Ever since THX (we know who that is) got into the picture forcing theaters to change out their speakers systems, such as the great Altec systems, the sound quality is generally autrocious and too loud. I saw the second film of the Hobbit series and I could not make out half the mumbo jumbo.Funny, as audio enthusiasts we wouldn't put up with glaring highs, screeching mids and thumping muddled bass. But that is what we now have to put up with in the theaters.
