but settling more towards the bottom. I thought Cusak did a good job and felt that the Hitler part was way overplayed--but, how do we know how he really was?I thought it had good production values. But, at the end, I couldn't understand why Leelee was even in the credits. I wonder if most of her part hit the editing floor?
Now, INVINCIBLE is your next homework assignment. I have never been impressed by Herzog's "stuff" but I feel more comfortable with this film as it is "based" on the true story of the Jewish "Samson" in the emerging Nazi Germany. Tim Roth's portrayl of the occult master was the pinnicale of screen nastiness. The other players, rather unkown to me, were only fair. (Why can the Brits be so "nasty"? What unfufilled desires do they harbor?)
Follow Ups:
Le chancellier was you just have to look at the great dictator ( !!!)
Cusak should remain to " High Fidelity " kind of films where he was so lovingly charming.
herzog is not really my cup of tea, some coldness around that disturb me...through I admire his film with Kinski...but on an intellectual way without passion ( in the desert..)
Let us hope for a better ( movie ) world..hehe.
