Both he and the cinematography are most excellent.
Follow Ups:
what happened to the 1/3?
Ok, will see "Spider" if and when it arrives. If not, I'll catch it when it comes out on video.
Have you seen "Swimming Pool," yet? Not just for the hooters, mind you (which alone are worth the price of admission, I grant) but the acting of Charlotte Rampling---and the excellence of the movie itself.
Saw two "Man" movies which I also enjoyed. "The Man w/out a Past," and "The Man on the Train."
Not great, mind you, but not mindless as so much American fare has been this year.
typical Cronenberg. Dark, one note, horrifying. Gore. Insanity. B-,
You left out Long. Boring. Ppointless waste of time.I turned it off after 30 minutes. It may or may not be a quality piece of cinema art but I've got better things to do with my time than watch loonies being loonie.
Anxiously awaiting "Pool". Has not arrived in the land of Magnolias yet, nor has any of the others at the video store. But, I will be watching out for the "Man" movies . . . .
Alabama? Birmingham? Hard to believe there is a more backwater film area than SW Florida.
All three of those movies provoke a bit of thought. Not a car chase, gunfight or special effect in sight!
