I saw it a few times in the theatre when I was young. Pretty scary movie for sure. There's also a Brit film called TROG which was pretty violent and centered around a really pissed off caveman killing everyone. If I saw both on a cheap DVD, I'd get them just for old time's sake.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the post.
Wow,The troll film sounds interesting.I never saw the Boggy creek film at the cinema but remember it on the tv in the days before the censors got there hands on the airwaves.
It really scared me and my brother, the dark eery swamplands and forest looked menacing and if i remember the film was shot with a low budget feel to it which kind of helped the atmosphere.I have seen it on dvd and on ebay usa.
I also bought the sequel and watched the start of it last night on dvd.
It looks quite good but you never know.I now have an lcd cinema projector and will purchase the First boggy creek film and project it on the big screen to recreate the cinema feel.
An unknown classic?
Thanks,
Ian.
where the person is on the crapper and the Swap Thing's hand comes crashing through the side widow.TROG is worth renting, but I don't know if it ever made it to VHS, let alone DVD.
As a member of the Asylum who lived less than 30 miles from Fouke, Arkansas, where Boggy Creek is located, for 9 years (Texarkana, Arkansas!), there are a couple of stories I could tell you about that area that could give you the heebie-jeebies.Let me just say this: the Boggy Creek monster would be the least scariest inhabitant of Fouke you could run into!
BTW: By the same filmmaker as "Boggy Creek", there is a film about a serial killer in Texarkana in 1946 called "The Town that Dreaded Sundown", with Ben Johnson starring in it! It's based on a true story.
and when the masked killer tied the knife to the end of the trombone and started playing/stabbing the women who was tied to the tree, now that was pretty disturbing. Some fucked up people walking around, I tell ya.
