Slightly off subject here but what do you think of the way that the Majician David Blaine has been treated in London recently?.I live in the uk and am discusted at the way he has been abused by people throwing eggs at him,Trying to cut his water suply and hurling abuse.
The uk mentatility towars him is disgraceful i think.
What do you think?

Here are two posts from the evo (car magazine) website that i have to agree with:
What stupid f*ck would sit in a box in public for 44 days? Maybe someone who thought he would be hero-worshipped in a similar way to the Americans who watched him spend time on top of a pole?
I'm very glad that the British cynicism is treating this c*nt with the disrespect he deserves.
Cheers

SecondedThe man is taking himself far too seriously and deserves all he gets.
At the end of the day he is getting 5mill for sitting on his arse for a few weeks, we as a nation of mickey takers have to do our best to make it a challenge for him.
Anyone got any pesticide?
Cheers

(me again):
Sure its mean and nasty but hes an idiot for thinking he would get the same treatment he gets in the US.
Not to mention the happy meal sent up to him in an RC helicopter... pure class.
Speaking of c*nts, you're a pair, ain't ya? What's it to ya what a bloke does in his off hours, ya nit?
croft,Blaine's style of public event is akin to any other kind of performance art- any action put in an event context that creates a response. And in the world of performance art, provoking a crowd reaction is a necessary part of the "work".
There is also that almost irresistable infantile urge to tap a fish bowl to get a reaction from the fish- to become part of the scene. But the public reaction verging on violence seems overly harsh and may partly be the English reaction to the perception of pure publicity seeking.
Blaine put himself inside a large block of ice in NYC and also stood for days on a pole, so he seems to be reviving the thrill stunts of the 20's: flagpole sitting, "hunger artists", wing walkers.
Personally, I would save the eggs for the ugly blob of the Millenium Dome and the idiotic Wheel.
