In some European countries if you ask for martini, you get vermouth from the bottle with Martini name on it. Another big one is Cinzzano.Basically a girly drink - sweet and not strong, a flavored wine sorta.

at home. I suppose the European Martini is simply minus the Rossi.Whenever I would fuel up at home I preferred a whisper of Cinzanno Dry. (My personal definition of Dry Vermouth is: a wine so bad it could only be salvaged by diluting with gin or vodka.)
what a blesphemy, how can you mix wine with gin and vodka? is this what you do in the us??
martini is one of the best and most popular aperitives. it can be mixed with gin and vodka. you can drink it shaken, stirred or not, dry or with a twist. a real classic, not exactly a girly drink when it is mixed with gin or vodka
