Fun, fun, fun.The Rock has a future in fun films. He has somewhat of a comedic gift and in "The Rundown" allowed his butt to get kicked several times. (That just doesn't happen to Ahnie!)
It was a nicely paced and edited film with lots of ACTION. Walken was off his usual game but his disinterest didn't detract from the fun. Oh, and watch for the suprise cameo in the opening sequence.
Ok, my monocle-wearing, Dom guzzling detractors, wait for the DVD then grab a Bud Lite or two--nobody will ever know.
Follow Ups:
that it's a fun film and Dwayne Johnson, who played behind Warren Sapp at UM, has been deemed the new heir apparent for Action Heros. Will see it this week.
I quite enjoyed it. But, I thought the Arnold cameo needless and in fact distracting--in fact, even "dangerous". It broke the "third wall" by bringing the viewer out of the world of the movie--and its own logic--and into the real world of self-referential in-jokes where movie logic breaks down and makes the experience less enjoyable. Fortunately it was very quick and followed by a kick-ass action sequence to help the viewer forget. And, the Rock can actually act, as compared to Mr. S.
