From J.Bond to Hichīs " Marnie" and the tons of stupid films he has ever made..Is he more than this sexual animal he could so good represent on screen?
Or what?
Does is presence on screen is just representation or can he act..too?
Or what?
Follow Ups:
1. The Great Train Robbery2. The Hill
3. Zardoz
The man has CHARISMA, for real, and can out act most current actors. He is, IMHO, a true "star."
I saw them...charisma still do not make an good actor.
I meanin his " Marnie and first Martini film " he was not so bad..
First, the Connery question, then the nostalgia...
Connery has the "sense of life" which is most attractive - handsome, strong, confident, jovial, ultimately kind-hearted - which is why I enjoy watching him in almost everything, even if it's crap. Except that recent film where he was an old author - I wouldn't even watch that again for Sir Sean. But I'll take Michael Caine as an *actor* any time.
"Shove it up your ass and light it with a match." - a rather frustrated moderator.
Hello !You forgot his uncanny sexuality...but I like watching him too..even in his later films( think of the tandem he H. Ford.
What goes on my nerves is his inability to choose good films.
M.Caine to the contrary choose almost always good directors and good films...and good scripts.
he is just plainly good even if he has not that certain class that Sean has...PS: I do hope that it will remain more stable than sopadic... ( your visit on this board..)
it'll bring out the child in you
Who did not...It has this Monty humor, Beatles Georges produce it. It is partly funny..but that still do not make it a good film.It was hip, but no more.
if we, on a scale from good to bad this kind of little fim as " good " judge, what will you do with Fredericoīs films?
--if we, on a scale from good to bad this kind of little fim as " good " judge, what will you do with Fredericoīs films?there's little reason then in having a film forum.
and no little cute "romance de fifi" or whatever little film should even be spoken of in the "really good" film forum.
Well we all want to " kill" time..till the day we run out of it.
For your remark, I can not recongnise the causality between a given notation and your complain about the what.
--Well we all want to " kill" time..till the day we run out of it.yawn. You are not Lord Byron.
--For your remark, I can not recongnise the causality between a given notation and your complain about the what.what?

That is I was missing.

Not yet.
Time B. is inapt to make me laugh..to make me smile.
I would question myself if it did.
Do you?Come over and letīs drink a few bottles and letīs talk more seriously about Rimbaud & Verlaine.
And how they kill their passion with the bougeoiss couple they made up.
But in the end, never forget what once was.

Like...you?I am too young to talk about.

Each division is actually 10x.

he shares with Michael Caine the uncanny ability of being cast in quite crummy films *Get Carter excluded in Caines case
My Connery faves are The Name of the Rose and To Russia with Love, he plays tongue in cheek like he is in on the joke and has a real screen presence
The name of the Rose..a good film ? One of the worst ever...You must have been:1) Madly in love with a beautifule japanese creature..
2) Totally drunk
3) bothSir Sean has chic to choose only very bad films to play in it. Presence is good when you are 25, and with over 60 he still has ...but he is laking of good judgement...and the good directors are not a plenty..what is left are terribly boring films...
This man is just good enough to play " decoration ".
Name of the Rose is a good film. You're probably mistaking it for something else.
if that is a good film then..I do not know what is a bad film.PS: It was made ( partly near the place were I live )
PS2: If it is agood film in your opinion you caolud have the energy & the elegance to elaborate...
PS3: Not completely gaga....
are you talking about the film based on Eco's book?
The only Film Whose name is bearing the title " The Name..bla..bla.." is One of Ecoīs long pending orgasm....
And now tell me, with definition please, why this film of yours, bears such a great value in your ...mind.
...and then, when shaving every morning, and remembering their faces, that can make your day start in a not-so-negative way?Just a long shot. And the film, which wasnīt very good, wasnīt so bad either...
Regards
It will not cahange my point..of view..( Me and the mirror..)
The film was very bad..It was an French / Italo production trying to mimic the big US ...without the professionalism..and the know how.
it was like this big ugly American figure ( Hulk ? )
did you read the fucking book? jeez, you're dense sometimes...
Dense..Thank you...I will take this word in the Latin sense.
What has the book to do with the film ?
Nothing.
At least in my imagination world.
I know critics did found back then that the film did well covered the book.
I did not.
Did you read it ?
--Dense..Thank you...I will take this word in the Latin sense.I didn't know you could Scisne Latine? If you do -
Aliquisne domum est?--What has the book to do with the film ? Nothing.
Nothing in a physical or philosophical sense?
Except the film was based on the book. You know. Almost nothing.--Did you read it ?
Yes. Want to talk about semiotics?
No, I am a lone some cow boy...without a home..Like a rolling stone.
I know so many films based on a given book...ha..ha !
Rimbaud could, I can too...

the Hairy man with a loin cloth.
He is joy to look at, but just OK as an actor. Or perhaps we simply don't know, because he has not been given any challenging roles. He is smart enough to lot look like a male bimbo, he actually looks smart and apparently IS, with tons of style and charisma.I like to watch him for his presence, style and demeanor.
Thank you for the traduction.
