Now here is a movie! No shattering glass, no explosions, no... contrived drama. Just a leisurely stroll though several people's lives, people who slowly begin to matter to you.Patricia Clarkson begins as a bumbler, ends as a warm friend to all.
Bobby Cannavale, whom I had never seen before, and who plays the extroverted comic role, is terrific in his moment of hurt. And hurt he is.
As for Peter Dinklage, one cannot imagine the film without this handsome, soulful dwarf.
Other parts are beautifully played as well.
The portrayal of people just sitting around has never been better done. Frankly I could have used at least ten more minutes of it! Hope there'll be a director's cut on DVD.
If you liked Lost in Translation, you'll fall for this. And even if you didn't, I think you will...
