In Reply to: What are your favorite music-themed movies? posted by draggcj on November 13, 2003 at 05:42:32:
We have covered that topic several times before here - you might search the archives. You always get the list of many usual suspects. Among my personal favorites are the Music Teacher and All the Mornings in the World. And the special mention goes to the Mozart Brothers - a treasured gift from clark. I would also include the two films I consider the part of my VERY short list of the best movies ever - My Fair Lady and Barry Lyndon, and... not sure if that will surprise you - almost all of Fellini's films, not just his Orchestra Rehersal.Another special mention goes to Stanley Kubrick and Woody Allen - in all of their films music plays an extremely important part - almost like another character.
Follow Ups:
Although this never bothered me, most of Stanley and Woody's films are originally in mono or in very perfunctory stereo.
