Amazing. Crowe said that the ship used for filming was sailed around all the waters where the story took place with full camera crew. They captured the waves and color of all the seas which were edited into the film. Where ever the boat is supposed to be, the waters are correct. Quite a touch!

Art Imitates Life.If it's a close enough approximation of what it would have really been like back in the day and if it stirs up emotions, then yes...it qualifies as art.

Of course, they could have done all that digitally and saved themselves the trouble. With a billion colors at their disposal, the true color of the various waters could easily be produced.
