It was an enjoyable but flawed film. The visual sideshow of the Galapagos was interesting but the idea of having such maniacal naturalist on board was over blown. I was expecting someone with the name of Darwin to show up at any moment.
Good drama but just not enough maritime battling. Notice that the violence was so tame that even the obligatory flogging was bloodless?

Begging your pardon, but he was IN THE BOOKS. Does that not count for something?
Besides, who's to say, Darwin himself wasn't a maniac?
