They took my money like shark takes pig leg - with one quick Bloop! That was on the 6th. They sent me an email saying it would be shipped right away.
Nothing so far.
Two emails sent to them asking about the shipping date have been unanswered.
Why is it that I am sensing the old familiar treatment there?
Follow Ups:
I dunno... You're the Russki...

Got an email today stating it had just been shipped. I wonder if it will really get here and if they can hijack my PayPal?
I bought a couple of items from that guy, he's kinda OK, but he will stick it to you if you don't pay attention. He sells a lot of Soviet photo equipment, and some old watches.
The delivery is supposed to take about 2 weeks. Fingers crossed.
but that *looks* like the real thing. Mine was a Zorki 1. I decided to sell it thinking it must be worth a bundle. Turns out it was almost worthless. I did get $200 for the Canon lens I had on it, I thought that was the worthless part. It still bothers me that I dumped all my photo equipment back in 86. Today that collection would put the kids through college. I sold it for nothing. :(I guess I better keep my day job.

Those were popular in the USSR in the fifties, they were made under the name FED-1. FED, BTW, stands for Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky. What is the story with that writing? What's that model? Is this some new production?
Is it a new production run? I was hoping you might know. It probably is as this one has Leica on it and not the Russian name. In fact, the one I bid on is one of the few that does NOT have the Nazi eagle and swastika on it. They sell a whole series of models such as Luftwaffe, Olympic, and Kriegsmarine. Pretty strange production run for a country that has no great love of that era of history. 8^)
This is falling outside the scope of this forum, I am afraid, but all Soviet made ones I had seen had the Russian FED-1 inscription. I have never seen the one like you bought - so I am curious where it is from, as I have not seen the Russians sign their products in foreign languages, except the export models, but those would still have the Russian model numbers, for instance it would be called Zenit (Russian for Zenith). This one is a mystery to me, but then I am not an expert, just had one and seen many. What did the seller say specifically - when and where it was made, and why the foreign inscription? Maybe Dmitry would be able to shed more light, as he is a younger fella, lived there after I left.
I'll say. With all due respoect, why don't you guys take this over to Shutterbug Strasse?
A US company? I assume they have a phone #..
They publish the list of individuals on their site with their email addresses - so I multiplied the email. We'll see how responsive they are. But so far if you asked me today - I would not consider them a good seller.
I suppose canceling your order is out of the question now.
Perhaps your Visa company might drop the bomb on them, although if it's an international transaction, chances are next to nil.
All their email addresses are US-based, it seems. I suspect the money was sucked into some US account too - judging by how quickly that part went, so getting it back from the credit card should not be hard. It's not like I am afraid to go broke over that $65, but I have the large screen all ready! I even dressed the cables today.
Friends are coming over for Thanksgiving dinner, and one is bringing his daughter (she's 20), and.... the DVD of that Lord of the Crap movie. He wants to see it on a large screen, so they are coming a couple of hours before the dinner.
Something I just don't get. The man is an incredible intellectual - literature, history and philosophy are oozing out of every body orifice - yet suddenly he does that.
I would have thought you seen it..
It's that unlike everything else!
Pauline Kael would've loved it, I'm sure.Et votre ami ancienne Patrick aussi, bien sur.
I watched it like a man who rarely succeeds in going somewhere he will never go again - his childhood.
I presume you mean the Lord of the Rings. It's not a crappy movie at all. It's a fairy tale, and very well made.
Boy, you are a SNOB!
------------
I think you may just call the Visa and have them cancel your purchase.
